Long Rider Tool Belt in the badlands of nD

What tool belt would I design to aid me in my leisure time.  The same activity that would land me a broken hand! My tool belt holding my cell phone, a small camera, a hand held Garmin and a knife went unharmed!

The Garmin was used to track our journey where cell coverage does not reach. This kept us from getting lost and back to camp by Happy Hour.  Our tracks varied from 6 -14 miles in the Badlands of North Dakota back in June of 2017.

The tool belt, I call the “Long Rider” was designed around the previously mentioned items. Heavy Cordura water resistant Nylon was used to protect the cell phone and camera. An all way stretch fabric or lycra was used to secure the weather proof Garmin which was also attached to the belt with a carabineer. All items needed to be easily accessible by one hand, as my horse, Clay, does not always remain stopped when asked. Clearly now after the accident we have some work to do with stop and slow down!

There is a Long Rider’s Guild whose members have ridden from 1,000 -19,000 continous miles and thus the name of this tool belt.  I can only aspire to thousands of continuous riding miles in my dreams as I really enjoy the comforts of a camper at night fall. My husband and I travel about with a gooseneck horse trailer with living quarters.  Or one could call it a fifth wheel that carries horse and human. There are horse campgrounds all over the US both private and public lands.  It is a retirement goal to boldly go where we have never been before….well just as soon as my hand heals!
